Background
For the Inquiry Project, I was to think of something that I have always wondered about, and create a question out of it. I then conducted research on this topic, and prepared artifacts based on three different genres of presentation style. I presented my artifacts and findings to the class.

My inquiry question was:
What energy source is the future of the automotive industry?
What energy source is the future of the automotive industry?
Below are the three genres that I created for my Inquiry Project.
1) PowerPoint
I created a PowerPoint because it is the best way to educate my audience. It may be generic, but it is the best way to convey my information to my peers.
2) Brochure
I created a Brochure because of its application. I could hand these out to anybody to educate them about the topic, and they can be placed anywhere. For example, I could place this brochure in an auto shop to inform the public about the future of automobiles.
3) Bumper Stickers
I created Bumper Stickers because it goes hand-in-hand with my inquiry question. Also, people often use bumper stickers to share their opinions and beliefs. This way, people can get involved with this question by sharing what they think will be the future of the automotive industry.

Reflection
I entered the Inquiry Project with a clear question in mind; “What energy source is the future of the automotive industry?” I had wondered about this question quite a bit before. I already had background knowledge about the topic, and the question directly affects my future career, as I am an aspiring Mechanical Engineer with a concentration in Motorsports. I then conducted research. I didn’t really use the CARS method for creating an introduction to my research, I just conducted the research that I knew would best satisfy the boundaries of my inquiry question. I felt that the territory I was covering was already well established in the question itself, and I successfully filled gray areas in research with correct, unbiased research. I researched the pros and cons of three existing, and emerging, energy sources, and statistical information about which one(s) had the best chance to take over the automotive industry in the future. I found it quite easy to incorporate my research into my writings and genres for this project. The question I proposed doesn’t really have a clear answer, only educated predictions, so I researched things that could help make those predictions. My process was simple and systematic for this project, and it proved to be successful.
